The plan is simple and easy to follow only eating foods you find at your grocery store. I have been on maintenance for the past 2 years, losing another 30 lbs. I have never felt better. I am off all my weight related medications and I am never hungry.The meetings are motivational and help you get from one week to the next. There are go-to-coaches to ask questions, there is a website with menu ideas and recipes. The help is there if needed.If you could do it alone, you would have done it already. I noticed that a colleague had lost a considerable amount and talked to him about it. We spoke again on two other occasions and I was inspired to give Harvey Brooker Weight Loss for Men a try. When I arrived I was skeptical, as I'm sure so many other men are when they show up for the first time, because we are admitting to ourselves that we need help, which is not something that comes easily to many of us. So I drank the Kool-Aid and haven't looked back since. In four months I have shed 44 lbs. and much to my surprise, I don't go hungry. There is no gimmick here, this is merely learning how to eat properly and in what proportions. If I do get hungry throughout the day, which is rare now, I reach for some carrot sticks, or my banana or apple. To be successful at this, I learned to eat when my brain begins to say, "Hey, I need something here." Yes, part of this change involves drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day but the trick for me is to have a 500 mL glass of flavoured water (no sugar or calories) just before I eat breakfast. Then I have a 750 mL water bottle at work which I make sure I finish off before I get home. Another 500 mL before dinner and there, I'm almost done my water consumption for the day. The other fellows at the meetings are easy to talk with and I learn something new every day, e.g., last week I discovered PB&Me, which is powdered peanut butter; PB was my "kryptonite". I'm certain I would never have known about this without attending HBWLFM. The fellows who give the talks are engaging and the others who share their personal stories are inspirational. So if you're considering but unsure, come out for an initial meeting. There is no hard-sell and if this isn't for you then you're free to walk away; but if you do join and adhere to this change in your eating behaviour then you won't be disappointed.P.S. There is one costly downside, you'll need to buy new clothes in a smaller size (unless of course you kept your "old friends" that you outgrew and can now get back into them). read lessBrad Hubley29/04/2019

While I never had the honour to meet Harvey himself, his voice will forever reside in my head as a source of inspiration. I’ve tried countless other programs and the culmination of my experiences is that “diets” don’t work. The keys to success are a healthy balance of proper nutrition, an active lifestyle, and participation in a community of support; all of which are the basics of this no nonsense program.
